Fabio Pietrantonio (b. 1966, Italy) is a multidisciplinary artist whose work explores the tension between nature, matter, and human consciousness. For over three decades, he has developed a visual language that merges painting, sculpture, and installation, transforming tactile materials into metaphors of connection and transformation. Pietrantonio’s large-scale projects, such as Acupuncture for the Planet and Bosco degli Abbracci, extend his artistic practice into environmental art, inviting collective reflection on humanity’s bond with the Earth. His works have been exhibited internationally and are part of private and corporate collections across Europe, the Middle East, and the United States. Rooted in the belief that art can act as a living force of regeneration, Pietrantonio’s creations embody a dialogue between tension and harmony—between what we see and what we feel.

Confini Series
In the Confini series, the artist engages with fabric on the surface, creating a visual and conceptual tension that is grounded in both materiality and essence. Three chromatic fields coexist within the same space, distinct yet harmonious: a dialogue between presence and separation, light and shadow, earth and air. The fabrics are shaped and layered with a pictorial and sculptural approach, enabling the organic qualities of the fiber and the memory of the gesture to surface. The focal point of the work is the knot: a primordial gesture, an archetypal symbol that represents connection, bond, and also identity and resistance. The knot transcends mere decoration; it embodies a dynamic action: it holds, contains, and unites. Its aesthetic strength is derived from a profound spirituality, influenced by both folk art and animist cosmologies, such as those of aboriginal or indigenous cultures, where every natural element is imbued with significance and interconnectedness. Every border serves as a threshold: between raw materials and processed surfaces, between the tangibility of matter and the intangibility of energy.
