O’Gringo, a.k.a. Bastien Tomasini, is inspired by the ancient tradition of 'Azulejos' (glazed, hand-painted Mediterranean tiles). His creative process involves detailed historical research and travel to inspiring locations where he photographs every detail to craft his narrative. His works have been featured at the National Museum Azulejos in Lisboa and Ovar Cultura in Portugal.

In Carcavelos, Portugal, O’Gringo led the ETERNIDADE project, transforming 110 m² of public space on Passeio Padre Aleixo Cordeiro with renovated 17th- and 18th-century tiles from Lisbon’s National Tile Museum. The work featured imagery of Lusitanian horses from the Royal Portuguese School of Equestrian Art in Belém.

The exhibition reinterpreted two Portuguese cultural traditions—azulejo tilework and Fado music—through a love story told from the perspective of a woman watching her love depart for the sea.

O’Gringo’s “Sonhadores” was created for Estrela da Amadora, a football club rooted in one of Portugal’s most diverse cities. Drawing on 17th- and 18th-century Portuguese tilework, the 35-square-meter mural reflects the club’s spirit of inclusion and collective strength. Estrela da Amadora competes in the Primeira Liga, Portugal’s top professional football division.
