Dr. med. univ. Daniel Josef Maier is a visual artist whose path did not begin at an art academy, but in medicine. During his medical studies, he realized that his true calling was not in healing bodies but in the creative force of art – in exploring what moves human beings at their core.

From a moment of inner emptiness, he developed an artistic practice that combines discipline, empathy, and deep human understanding with expressive power and aesthetic clarity. Since 2020, Maier has been working with an uncompromising commitment to depth, authenticity, and independence.

A distinctive aspect of his work is the use of Augmented Reality. By merging analog painting with digital augmentation, Maier creates a completely new art experience: his works begin to breathe, to move, and to develop their own dynamics as soon as viewers observe them through a smartphone or tablet. The AR layer is not a technical gimmick but an extension of emotion – a bridge between art, space, and consciousness.
